Since June 2010, Long Ashton has had it’s own monthly village market on the first Saturday of every month, in the Village Hall, from 9.30-1pm.
The market continues to grow in popularity, and now attracts a large number of local people buying locally grown, reared or made food and crafts, including seasonal and organic, all produced within a 30 mile radius.
Stall holders include local food and craft businesses selling vegetables, meat, fish, cheese and bread, and Long Ashton residents selling homemade cakes, jams, pickles, plants and crafts. In addition, on market days the LA café is open in the Club Room, selling a range of drinks, delicious homemade cakes and snacks.
We have special events to showcase local crafts people demonstrating their skills, including cider making, wool spinning, and textile making.
There is a community stall available free of charge and available for any local community groups to use to promote their activities and/or fundraising.
The market has also been lucky enough to have the talents of local musicians playing at the market. We would welcome anyone who would like to help further with this.
The market also has its own website at www.longashtonvillagemarket.co.uk where you can find out the latest market news and stall application forms & market guidelines for anyone wanting to have a stall at the market.
For more information about the market or about hiring a stall, contact the Market Co-ordinators by email via the website.
