The world is set up to benefit the well-off and maintain the system that has produced the climate emergency and social and racial inequality we are now living with. 500 years of slavery, capitalism and mineral exploitation has built clear channels of power and privilege. No power elite ever gave up their power voluntarily. The UK government boasts of its aspiration to be carbon net zero by 2050, yet is still funding fossil fuel extraction around the world, and is still largely kicking the can down the road. 2050 is too late.

As well as personal change we can make demands of those in power. Sign petitions, engage with our MP, feed what you want in to the Parish Council and North Somerset Council who are serious about becoming carbon zero by 2030. Join a group working for change.
